Myoga ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application that provides guided yoga learning, practice sessions, fitness tracking, and a heart rate monitoring feature using your device’s camera. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal and sensitive user data, including health-related data, in compliance with Google Play Developer Policies, including the Health Apps Policy.
1. What Information Does Myoga Collect?
a) Account Information
To use Myoga, you must sign in using:
- Google Sign-In, or
- Email and password
We collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Google ID (if applicable)
This information is used solely to create and manage your account and is not shared with third parties except as described in the Data Sharing section.
b) Health & Fitness Data
Myoga includes the following health and fitness features:
- Heart Rate Monitoring: Uses your device’s camera to estimate heart rate by analyzing redness changes (PPG). No video or images are recorded or stored; data is processed in real-time and discarded after analysis unless you choose to save heart rate measurements.
- BMI Calculator: Requires user-inputted height and weight to calculate Body Mass Index.
- Step Counter: Uses your device’s sensors to track steps.
- Yoga Progress: Tracks your progress in yoga learning and practice sessions.
All health and fitness data is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.
c) Device Information
We collect device model and OS version to ensure compatibility with features like heart rate monitoring.
d) Usage Data
We may collect anonymized usage data to improve app performance and user experience. This data does not identify you personally.
e) Data Not Collected
- We do not collect personally identifiable information beyond account management needs.
- We do not store video or camera images.
- We do not access data unrelated to core functionality.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Enable secure sign-in and personalized access.
- Provide heart rate, BMI, step tracking, and yoga progress features.
- Ensure device compatibility.
- Improve app experience through anonymized analytics.
We do not:
- Sell or share your personal/health data for marketing.
- Use data beyond what’s necessary for app functionality.
3. Data Sharing
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share personal/health data.
- Legal Compliance: Disclosure only if legally required.
- Government Affiliation: Any data shared with MDNIY requires your consent.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Health data is stored locally using AES-256 encryption.
- Account Data: Stored securely with TLS and AES-256 encryption.
- Retention: Camera data is not retained. Health data remains until deleted or app is uninstalled. Account data deleted within 30 days upon request.
5. Permissions
- Camera: For heart rate estimation.
- Sensors: For step tracking.
- Storage: To save health or session data.
6. Device Compatibility
Heart rate monitoring depends on device camera quality and performance. Use proper lighting and follow instructions for accuracy.
7. Health Disclaimer
Myoga is not a medical device and is intended for general wellness only. It does not diagnose or treat conditions. Always consult a healthcare provider.
Heart Rate Detection Disclaimer:
Heart rate detection provides an indicative measure of an individual's heart rate and shall not be intended to be used as a substitute for a medical-grade device. Consult your doctor or other certified medical practitioner in case of first aid, medical emergency, heart attack, or cardiac event.
Users are advised to exert extreme caution in the interpretation of the estimated heart rate and are advised to consult a doctor or other certified medical practitioner to correlate it with the clinical condition.
Heart rate detection feature does not detect blood pressure and oxygen saturation level.
Heart rate detection feature is not intended for measuring baby heart rate.
Heart rate detection feature uses a camera flash which can get hot; users are advised to remove their finger if it gets uncomfortable.
8. Prominent Disclosure and User Consent
- In-app prompts will disclose camera/health data use.
- Data processed locally unless you choose to save it.
- Consent is required before data collection.
- You can revoke permissions anytime via device settings.
9. Your Rights
- Access, review, delete local health data.
- Opt out of analytics in settings.
- Contact us for data concerns.
10. Uninstalling and Deleting Your Data
Uninstalling the app deletes all local data stored on your device.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy. Updates will be available on our website and in the app. The “Last Updated” date reflects the latest revision.
